Y.O.U. and Towards Employment Host Sen. Portman to discuss JOBS Act
Y.O.U. and Towards Employment co-hosted a roundtable with U.S. Senator Rob Portman and workforce leaders in our community, who serve young adults, on May 6 at Bloom Bakery, a Towards Employment social venture. The group discussed the “Jumpstart Our Businesses By Supporting Students” (JOBS) Act, legislation Sen. Portman introduced with U.S. Senator Tim Kaine.
15th Annual Youth Career Olympics Showcases Excellence
The Youth Career Olympics, a culmination of everything the students learned in their respective Y.O.U. Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG) courses, allowed them to demonstrate to Northeast Ohio employers their maturity, professionalism, dedication to community service, and knowledge of industries in the region.

In-Demand Jobs Week, March 11 - 15, is a week for individuals seeking work to learn about which companies are hiring, available resources, and ways to obtain skills and certifications to land in-demand jobs in Cuyahoga County.
All events are free and open to the public.

It was a beautiful day to hit the links at the Eighth Annual Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational, Monday, July 30, at the Beechmont Country Club. A total of 112 golfers enjoyed 18 holes with 24 local celebrities.
Youth Career Olympics, Creating Endless Opportunities
More than 250 students from Y.O.U.’s school-based program Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG) participated in the 2018 Youth Career Olympics (YCO), Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the beautiful Lyndhurst Campus of the Cleveland Clinic. WKYC News Anchor and Reporter Tiffany Tarpley served as the YCO Mistress of Ceremonies at the Victory Celebration, and Monyka S. Price, Chief of Education, City of Cleveland, delivered the keynote address.
