11th Annual Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational Biggest Year Ever
On Monday, July 26, Y.O.U. supporters gathered at the StoneWater Golf Club. The weather was perfect for our golfers who celebrated Y.O.U.’s work in the community while meeting several staff and youth.
This year’s highlights:
120 golfers attended and 24 foursomes golfed.
24 local celebrities from Cleveland sports teams and news/media outlets paired up with the foursomes.
The event raised more than $70,000 for Y.O.U. programming.
Mark Koberna of Sonkin and Koberna Law got our first-ever tournament hole-in-one, winning the $10,000 prize.
This year’s auction featured classic favorites like wine baskets, Indians and Browns tickets, and golf outings. We even had some new goodies like a paddle board and a week’s stay at the PGA Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
“All the kids were thankful for what we were able to do for them. This has been our best year of all 11 (golf outings.) The best year we’ve ever had and one we will all remember.”

“My group did have the privilege of being joined by one of the students, Rosalynn. She was a joy to have as part of our group, and we even got her to take a few swings with us. She also told us about her lip gloss business, which was very cool.”
- Alex Eikenberry from Mutual of America
“She even gave Larry Nance a hard time on occasion about his golf game! She really was a treat to have in our group, and it brought the organization one step closer to my guests.”
