Financial Literacy at Y.O.U.

This summer Y.O.U. provided real life financial literacy training through Huntington Bank at Union Miles Development Corporation (UMDC). While bank professionals served as awesome conduits, the youth were each given a "lifestyle card" including job title, work location, income and children. They were guided to different tables including, housing, transportation, entertainment, savings, and education and based on their Lifestyle card, asked to create a budget. This experience exposed our students to planning, organizing and money management. Our students benefited greatly from this opportunity and walked away with budgeting skills for the future. Y.O.U. provides more than summer jobs. Through our partnerships, we work to curate meaningful experiences for our participants. Stay tuned for more impactful stories from this summer’s work experiences.
