Y.O.U. Receives Grant from Westfield Insurance Foundation
Y.O.U. was awarded a $150,000 grant from Westfield Insurance Foundation. Funds from the two-year grant will go towards the Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG) program. The grant is part of Westfield’s Family Stability portfolio, a key mission impact area of giving. Westfield’s focus on Family Stability provides support to organizations that offer comprehensive approaches to help families overcome challenges by connecting the issues of education, finance, housing and workforce development.
“Westfield recognizes that families trying to achieve and maintain personal and economic stability often face multiple barriers to success, which don’t exist in a vacuum,” said Jani Groza, Westfield Insurance Foundation executive director, and Westfield Insurance community investment leader. “We believe investing in our Family Stability community partners and the wrap-around support services they offer help these families not only realize short-term successes but has the potential to provide long-lasting outcomes.”
The JOG Program is an in-school, classroom-based program with a focus on career development, employability, life and leadership skills. JOG is part of Jobs for America’s Graduates, offering drop-out prevention programs in 32 states. Follow-up services are provided to participants for a full year after graduation.
The JOG Program can be found in high schools in Cleveland, East Cleveland, Painesville, Maple Heights, Lorain, and Euclid High Schools.
