Y.O.U. hired Case Western Reserve University to evaluate if youth participating in our Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) from 2014-2017 were, in fact, positively impacted over time. Case published their study in 2020. ScienceDirect, one of the largest bibliographic databases of scientific and medical publications, published the study in their April issue. ScienceDirect is published by Elsevier.

The study matches SYEP participants and unselected applicants on various observed covariates using the Child Household Integrated Longitudinal Data (CHILD) System and relies upon propensity score matching techniques to estimate program completion impacts on educational and criminal justice system involvement outcomes.
