Y.O.U. JOG wins the 2021 “5-of-5” JAG Award

JAG Recognizes “5-of-5” State Affiliates, Outstanding Specialists, High Performers, and Peak Performers During the National Training Seminar this past July. Y.O.U. congratulates career specialist instructors, Nika Newsome, Vanessa Ackley, and Yolanda Veasey on their awards.

This year’s theme was Game On: The Power of Winning Together. The JAG Model and the JAG Advantage brings a winning combination to our young people and give them the power to compete and win in today’s workforce. After five days of NTS, JAG Specialists, managers, and affiliate staff left with the knowledge, skills, and most importantly, actionable plans and toolkits to support JAG youth during the ‘22-’23 school year!

In addition, JAG celebrated and recognized our “5-of-5” State Affiliates, Outstanding Specialists, High Performers, and Peak Performers throughout the week.

The “5 of 5” State Award recognizes the highest-achieving states that exceed all five of Jobs for America’s Graduates National’s performance metrics aimed at graduation and employment. Performance metrics include employment rate, full-time employment, total full-time positive outcomes, and further education rate.

A JAG Specialist’s unique bond, positive relationship and shared goals with participants provide the support system needed to successfully advance in achieving their education and career goals.

During the post-programming follow up phase, JAG Specialists are working with students to complete their high school diploma or equivalency, obtain employment with career opportunities ideally in career pathways within high wage, high demand occupations and industries, pursue and persist in postsecondary education or the military.

Successful achievement of these outcomes is recognized by the prestigious JAG “5-of-5” Award, honoring specialists success in accomplishing all post-program goals.
