Construction Credential Training Graduating Class 2022

Our graduates Maeyon, LeJon, Lamas, Isaiah, and Dayvon share what they learned, what they liked about the program and advice for future applicants. Congratulations to our team of achievers on their new credential!

In the construction pathway they complete a 3-week Job Readiness Training (JRT). Each participant is assigned a job coach and a case manager, who works with them up to a year after completing the program. They receive support services, coaching, and mentoring while developing their work ethic, job skills, and professionalism. They learn how to maneuver their job search and the importance of retainment. During their program they refine their resumes and practice mock interviews. They leave the program with their OSHA 10 certification.

They also complete their NCCER Construction Credential Training. A certified journeyman instructs them on construction site awareness and safety as well as secure handling of power tools, manual tools, and equipment. Participants learn construction math & drafting. They prepare participants for various apprenticeship and permanent placement.

One member of the graduating class, Le’Jon, shared that the program helped him “improve my problem solving skills, ability to work in a team, and work ethic. I am excited to continue in the construction or electrical workers trades, and I plan to go back to school to get my masters in engineering in the future.”
