Jermale Tisdale Jr. embarks on his third year of Summer jobs

We check in with Jermale Tisdale Jr., his mother Linyana Lane, & Pastor Sheena Cameron from Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church on what it's like to participate in the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) as a participant, a parent, and an employer.

His first year in the SYEP, Jermale worked at the front desk at Mount Pleasant Housing Facility. Last year he was placed with Pastor Cameron at the church. This summer Jermale hopes to be assigned to a job that’s completely different from his last two years.

After high school, Jemale plans to attend Texas University to study law. He is saving up his summer earnings to buy a car.

This interview was conducted in May 2021.
